Dehradun also spelled as Dehra Doon is a beautiful hill station city in Uttarakhand state, India. It is situated in Doon Valley surrounded by Himalayas in north, Shivalik hills in south, Ganga River in east and Yamuna in its western side. It is 246 km away from New Delhi, capital of India. It has a terminal building and an extended runway which can operate larger aircraft. The airport is accessible through buses, cars and taxis from the main city. It is 20 and 45 minutes from Rishikesh and Haridwar respectively. The airport mainly flies to Delhi from where passengers can board international flights and wide range of domestic flights.
