Trains From Darbhanga

Darbhanga is in Bihar, India. Its name derived from the ‘Broken Gates of a Hindu Qila’ which traces back to Tughlaq era. Apart from this, it is one of the oldest cities in Bihar as its mention is found in Ramayana and Mahabharata. Now, this place is a densely populated into 3 other natural division viz. Ghanshyampur, Biraul, Kusheshwarshan. It is a highly alluvial plain drenched by Koshi river every year. The district of Darbhanga is watered by other rivers Kamla, Kareh, Bahmati besides Koshi.

Transport:
Darbhanga rail station is under East central Railway. It is a major rail station in the state operating trains to various destinations. There are 3 main rail lines which run between Darbhanga to Samastipur, Darbhanga to Sitamadhi, Darbhanga to Jaynagar. Besides these rail lines, direct trains to Saldah, New Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Amritsar, Bangalore, Pune, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, Puri etc places.

There are Express/Mail trains to other Indian cities such as Jhansi, Ludhiana, Tirunelvel, Satna, Kanpur, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Vijaywada, Khandwa, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Allahabad, Varanasi etc.

There is no airport in Darbhanga. Passengers and tourists have to board domestic flights from Patna airport. There are various cheap direct flights to Patna airport and thus reaching Darbhanga is very convenient.
