Darbhanga is in Bihar, India. Its name derived from the ‘Broken Gates of a Hindu Qila’ which traces back to Tughlaq era. Darbhanga rail station is under East central Railway. It is a major rail station in the state operating trains to various destinations. There are 3 main rail lines which run between Darbhanga to Samastipur, Darbhanga to Sitamadhi, Darbhanga to Jaynagar. Besides these rail lines, direct trains to Saldah, New Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Amritsar, Bangalore, Pune, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, Puri etc places.
