Trains From Amritsar

The Holy city, Amritsar is in Punjab. It is one of the busiest and largest cities in the state most famous for the Golden temple. The city is densely populated because of its industrial and commercial development. More than 3,695,077 people reside in the city and its adjoining areas. Amritsar is the spiritual center of Sikh community. Thousands of devotees flock here in the Golden Temple throughout the year. Transport:
Amritsar being an important city in Punjab is well connected with rest of the country with extensive transportation. There are daily trains to and from this place to places like Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Indore, Jabalpur, Ujjain, Ahmedabad and Pune. Amritsar railway station operates and welcomes Express and Mail trains at a regular basis. There is a proposal of high speed train between Amritsar and Delhi via Chandigarh.

Interstate bus service is also available from Amritsar to Delhi, Chandigarh, Jammu, Pathankot, Haryana etc. besides these the streets and roads in Amritsar are well maintained. Buses, cars, taxis, auto rickshaws and two-wheelers are available on road.

Amritsar International Airport:
Raja Sansi International airport is situated in Amritsar and is 15 to 20 minutes drive from the city centre. The airport is equipped with all modern facilities. The airport operates daily domestic and international flights to Delhi and other Indian cities. Though most of the flights are headed to New Delhi from where passengers can get into their desired destinations.
